Department Profile
RiverBank applies the "Three Lines of Defence" model. The Risk department, as second line of defence, is in charge of the anticipation, identification, measurement, monitoring, control and reporting of all the risks inherent to the activities of the Bank. It must ensure at all times that such risks are properly managed to remain within the boundaries set by the Board of Directors of the Bank (business strategy and associated risk tolerance) in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

RiverBank is looking to recruit a Senior Risk Officer:

Primary Responsibilities
- Implement a comprehensive internal control framework, encompassing both financial risks (credit risk, market risk) and non-financial risks;
- Identify, measure and report events and risks, and propose mitigating actions if required
- With respect to credit files, control and sign off upon the compliance of each credit application with applicable policies, procedures, limit frameworks and Credit Committee decisions,
- Provide on a regular or ad-hoc basis comprehensive overviews of all the risks to which the Bank is exposed, on a point-in-time (actual risks) and forward-looking basis (scenarios and stress tests),
- Organize the Bank¡¦s proper governance of its Credit Committee, the Asset and Liability committee, the Watchlist and Loan Monitoring Committee
- To steer the Internal Capital and Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (stress testing and reporting);
- Stay up to date with regulatory change and new developments in risk management, and provide expert advice on these topics;

Required qualifications and experience

- Master Degree in Economics, Finance or related disciplinesƒn
-10 years of experience in a banking environment as credit risk and / or market risk manager ƒn

Skills required

- Knowledge of credit products, especially corporate lending and securitisation;
- Highly skilled in Excel
- Knowledge of asset and liability management in the banking book;
- Independence and objectivity;
- Creative and open-minded, with a pro-business attitude and the ability to strike the right balance between business and risk;
- Excellent relationship and communication skills;
- Sound writing and numerical skills;
- Enjoys team work, thrives in a fast paced environment;
- Goal and people-oriented;
- Proficiency in English (knowledge of French, Dutch and/or German are a plus)
